To implement the housing construction under Owner Driven Programme, NEHRP has established an Engineering unit. This unit is having sub division in all eight Districts to implement the housing construction under the leadership of District Programme Engineer. The Engineering Specialist of NEHRU will monitor the Programme in NEHRU level, guide the District Engineers and take necessary action. Considering the mobility facilitation, motivation level of the beneficiaries, construction knowledge of the people and intensity of the houses of the particular area, Technical Officers and Work Supervisors have been recruited allocating 100 to 200 houses per Technical Officer. The District Programme Engineer is administratively attached to work under Deputy Programme Director. But he is the responsible officer for the implementation of the construction activities and technically functioning under the direction of Engineering Specialist.
